Facts, Rumors and Myths?
# 1 The X88 engine was not offered as a separate option in Japan (other than as part of the X83 option) and in the USA was only available as part of the Package model (and as part of the X85 option).
# 2 Other than interior and exterior colors, all cars ordered for Singapore delivery had the identical option order codes except for the addition or deletion of options 650 (electric sunroof), 692 (remote CD changer), and X26 (full leather steering wheel).
# 3 VIN 470165 has option code 740 'exhibition vehicle' indicating that the car may have been used for regional auto shows.
# 4 VIN 480451 and 480457, both for Canada delivery, are the only non-ROW X88 option cars.
# 5 VIN 470351 located in New Zealand, not an official X88 optioned car, may have had an X88 option engine installed at the factory.
# 6 In the mid 1990’s, up until the Asian financial crisis in 1997, the Sultan of Brunei and his brother Prince Jefri and family amassed the largest auto collection in the world.
